Youth Night, Wednesday, May 17, 6:30 pm

Sangha youth ages 10-15 (and their parents) are welcome to attend an abbreviated block of sitting in the Arnold Park zendo from 6:30-7:00 pm, with a light snack in the dining room from 7:00-7:30 pm. We will start off meeting in the link at 6:20 pm. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Chris Maley.

Saturday Dokusan, May 20, 9:00 am

Occasional Saturday-morning dokusans are offered to accommodate members who can’t make it to the regular dokusans held during the week. To participate, take a seat on the left side of the Arnold Park zendo, near the Kannon Room, any time before 9:00 am (EDT). An announcement will be made before dokusan with Donna-sensei begins.

Looking ahead – Chapin Mill Work Retreat, June 27 – July 1

For our annual work retreat in honor of Ralph Chapin, we work together on upkeep of the buildings and grounds – and at the same time intensify our meditation practice and enjoy the beauty of Chapin Mill.

During the Chapin Mill Work Retreat we sit a bit more than the regular Zen Center training schedule, and dokusan is offered daily. Since the bulk of our work is completed in the morning, most of the afternoon is free for unstructured activity – swimming, walking in the woods, visiting with friends, or more sitting in the zendo.

You’re welcome to come for all or part of the retreat, and there’s plenty of space for people to stay overnight if they wish. There’s no fee for the work retreat, although donations to cover the cost of food are welcome (suggested donation: $20/day).  Simply complete the Chapin Mill Work Retreat Form to let us know when you’d like to come, any physical limitations you have, and skills you’d like to contribute.
