DepreshZen is an informal, online gathering for Sangha members to explore and discuss mental health. We meet for an hour most Sundays at 3:30 pm Eastern.

DepreshZen provides a safe space to talk, educate, and share experiences and perspectives of mental health, including how it can affect Zen practice. Our discussions explore meaning, purpose, and reflection in relation to mental health and the many factors that contribute to one’s well-being. Occasionally, we invite guests to join our discussion and offer a professional perspective, such as a psychiatrist or therapist who is also a Zen practitioner.

As the group’s playful name suggests, we hope to work toward reducing any stigma of mental health and offer a deeper, more inclusive understanding of its role and potential in our lives.  While the name only alludes to Depression, a range of mental health conditions are discussed and welcomed.

If you’re interested in participating or have any questions, please send an email to DepreshZen@rzc.org.
