Please join us the weekend of May 25 – May 27 for a celebration of the Buddha’s birthday.

Friday, May 25: Temple Night/Jukai

6:15 p.m. Children’s Jukai (in the Buddha Hall) Refreshments for children immediately after the ceremony (in the dining room)
7:00 p.m. Temple Night concluding around 9:10 with Jukai (Taking-the-Precepts) An unstructured time for zazen, offerings, and individual devotions at altars in the Buddha Hall (children welcome from 7:00 – 7:45). People are invited to bring their buddha and bodhisattva figures from home to place on the main (largest) altar.

Following Jukai, Buddha Hall remains open for informal sitting

Saturday, May 26: Buddha’s Birthday and Buddha Bazaar

Morning No formal sitting. Breakfast at 7:30, work at 8:00 a.m.
11:00 a.m. Pouring Sweet Tea Over the Baby Buddha Drop your potluck
dishes off in the main house and then go out to the Buddha Hall.
11:30 a.m. Chanting and Story of the Buddha’s Birth, followed by Sleeping Sage and Parade
12:30 p.m. (approx) Potluck Lunch Bring a hearty vegetarian picnic salad or casserole to share
(no desserts, please – beverages and cake provided by ZC).
1:15 p.m. (approx) Buddha’s Birthday cupcake tower
1:30 p.m. Buddha Bazaar Fun and games into the afternoon

Sunday, May 27

8:30 – 9:30 Zendo open for informal sitting (with dokusan for out-of-town members)
9:30 – 11:00 Annual Corporate Meeting in the Buddha Hall (for members and
