Looking for Help with Next Week’s CSA Pickup

On Thursday, August 2, (during sesshin) we’re looking for someone to pick up the Center’s produce share from our CSA (community-supported agriculture) farm, Wild Hill Farm. The pickup location is a scenic 30-minutes’ drive (one way) to Wild Hill Farm (2176 Elton Road, Bloomfield, NY 14469). If you’re interested, contact Dené at the Center (361-877-7891).

Next Book Club Meeting

The Book Club met on Sunday evening and they’ve set the date for their next meeting:

The next book club meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 19, at 6:30 p.m. We will finish up our discussion of Encounters with Chinese Hermits by Red Pine/Bill Porter (chapter 7 onwards). Snacks provided. Anyone is welcome to come regardless of whether they complete all of the reading.

An Appeal for Yoga Mats

We’re going to be offering another series of the Hello Pain program for people in the wider community who are struggling with chronic pain. Our next series will be hosted by the Anthony Jordan Health Center, and we’re hoping to gather up enough yoga mats to make that space workable. If you have one you’re not using and would be willing to donate it, call us at the Center or email John Pulleyn (john.pulleyn@gmail.com) or Jonathan Hager (hagerpark@gmail.com).
