Center Closed for a Week

With the COVID spike worsening here in Monroe County (over 800 new cases were reported yesterday) and with one confirmed and one probable case among staff, the Center’s COVID-19 Task Force has decided that the Center’s Arnold Park and Chapin Mill locations will both be closed to non-residents until Thursday, April 21. Please note that daily sittings will continue to be broadcast on Zoom and Mixlr as usual. If you have any questions, please contact Trueman Taylor.

If you want to schedule dokusan over Zoom, you are welcome to email Roshi or Sensei.

Online Teisho This Sunday, April 17

Sensei will give teisho Sunday, April 17. Join us on Zoom at 8:30 a.m. As usual, we’ll sit one 50-minute round with a bell at the half-way point for a posture change. The round is followed by kinhin, a short chanting service, and teisho.

This might be Sensei’s last teisho for a while. On Sunday, May 1, Roshi grabs the baton and will give teisho.

Extended Sitting, April 24, 6:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Besides the usual Sunday sitting that will run from 8:30 to around 10:30, there will be three other blocks of formal sitting scheduled. In addition, Trueman Taylor will offer private instruction during the late-morning block. Here’s the extended sitting schedule. To receive Zoom access or for questions about how to participate in private instruction, email Jeanette.
