Calling All Bodhisattvas

Sangha member Chris Maley’s mother experienced major medical complications after a routine surgery last week. Chris has played a vital role in leading the Center’s Youth Program and now he needs our support. We’re collecting cards from the “Zen Kids,” and they may be dropped off at Arnold Park (place them in the mail slot at the main entrance and we will deliver them to Chris). The kitchen is also providing some meals, and if anyone else would like to contribute meals you can do so by contacting Lila Redding . Lastly, we are collecting money for a Cook Unity gift card, which provides a healthy, fresh food service. You can contribute to the gift card by giving to @lilaredding through Venmo.

Marchers Needed for the Rochester Pride Parade, Saturday, July 15

The Sangha Programs Office is organizing a contingent of marchers for the upcoming Rochester Pride Parade. We’re looking for people (including allies) who are interested in marching alongside a few RZC staff members.

The parade starts at 1:00 pm on July 15 and the route begins on Park Avenue (near Arnold Park) and leads to the Pride Festival at Cobb’s Hill Park. If you’re interested in participating or have any questions, please visit the parade’s  homepage or contact Lila Redding .

Anyone interested in supporting local Pride events is also invited to attend the ROC Pride Picnic hosted by Rainbow Seniors ROC, which takes place on Sunday, July 9, from noon to 6:00 pm at the Roundhouse at Genesee Valley Park. More information on the picnic is here.
