Joining the 4-day Sesshin (February 26 – March 2)
The regular schedule of morning and evening Zoom sittings is suspended during sesshin. However, as a reminder to people who are not attending sesshin, you are welcome to join any parts of the sesshin (though without private instruction). If you cannot stay for an entire block of sitting, please enter or exit Zoom during a kinhin whenever possible. Here is the schedule so you know what times to enter and join (the rounds are 35 minutes long with a 7-minute kinhin in between). Note: The entire sesshin will be broadcast on Zoom only, with one exception: John Pulleyn’s Dharma talks will also be broadcast on the Center’s audio-livestream (Mixlr).
Our regular Zoom sittings will resume Wednesday morning (7:00 – 8:00), March 3.
Happy Friday!
Join host Brenda Reeb in a Friday-night social event. How was your week? What are you looking forward to over the weekend? Want companionship in a socially distant way? Need help with something? We’ll use a round-robin format to check in with everyone on the call who wants to speak. Check in with Sangha as you transition into the weekend.
Our first meeting will be Friday, March 5, 4:30 – 5:45 pm EST, and our second one will be two weeks later, on Friday, March 19, 4:30 – 5:45 pm.
We’ll be using the Center’s new Sangha Zoom account for this event. Get in touch with Trueman (trueman@rzc.org) for the meeting number and password.
Call for Volunteers: Support Vaccination Signups
On March 3, Rochester will have a new mass-vaccination site, specifically to assist socially vulnerable communities in ZIP codes with lower vaccination rates. To be successful, United Way needs volunteers to help residents schedule vaccination appointments. (Roshi helped out this past weekend, and it was easy enough.)
When we last checked, they did not have slots for volunteers scheduled after March 2, but they will! To sign up, visit here.
