At the Family Relief Ceremony, two weeks ago, Sangha donated $420 for Oxfam America. Since the Center’s budget this year allowed us to match Sangha donations, a check for $840 was mailed yesterday. Moreover, as part of their Thanksgiving discussion on gratitude, the Sangha kids chose to raise funds themselves for two projects: Save the Children and Tariro. They collected $84 that will be divided in half. Thank you for your generous contributions!
Zazen Schedule This Weekend
In case you have any doubts, the regular sittings at Arnold Park (Friday evening; Saturday morning; Sunday morning) will still occur during this weekend’s Chapin Mill 2-day sesshin. Moreover, Roshi will be giving dokusan at Arnold Park on Saturday, at 10:00 am, for members who can’t otherwise make it to dokusan during weekdays.
Rochester People’s Climate Coalition
Last week Roshi, Notch and Margaret Miyake, and Dené Redding met with Gillian Griffin, of Rochester People’s Climate Coalition, a hub of local organizations working to mitigate climate change. The Zen Center is now officially a member organization, with the Miyakes listed as our liaison members.
