| In Japanese Zen temples a new person is "thrown in at the deep
end", with few explanations about how things work or what they mean. The
novice simply joins in, and by keeping his or her eyes open, gradually learns
what to do through an often painful process of trial and error.
In Rochester we've found that people get on a lot better with some initial instruction and explanation. In this regard, the following sections will give you information on how you can establish your Zen practice in conjunction with training offered at the Rochester Zen Center. Introductory Workshop |
