The log that Stevan is pulling out of the pond with our Kubota tractor was cut from
a fallen Black Cherry tree we found in the Chapin Mill woods near the (former) Gubb
cabin. With another log that we cut from a Black Cherry tree overhanging the entrance
road, we will make “rough hewn” decorative beams that will go in the Kannon
Room of the new Zendo building. |

The fruits of November! Looking down on the new zendo from the hill just to
the west of the building. The white Tyvek wrapping on the outside of the building will
soon be covered by cedar shingles. Volunteer shinglers will be welcomed with enthusiasm! |
