While the volunteers work, this Chapin Mill resident catches a few more winks. The huge job of installing all the drywall has also begun. Jeff Scott, measuring twice (and cutting once). Sound-proofing channels are installed in the dorm walls before the drywall is hung.

 

Yes, there are more shingles yet to be stained!  Staining crew #1 set up shop near the barn. Staining crew #2 was deployed to the building itself.  We finished staining shingles that day, having hand stained more than 14,000 of them! Once stained, the shingles are dried for 48 hours on these custom-built racks. The windows have been installed, and the shingles nearly cover the east end of the building.

 

  The shingles creep upwards on the east end of the building. What is now bare cement on the bottom of the building will eventually be covered with stonework.
