Volunteers begin to stain facia boards (external trim). Sensei puts a completed board where the stain can dry safely. It's a surgeon, it's a dentist...no, it's Sensei!!! Lou Kubika, who has pledged 4-5 months of his time to work on the building.

Other volunteers, sporting exotic safety gear. August 22 - the whole crew! August 23: The crew begins to stain the cedar shingles that will cover the building. After being stained, the shingles are inserted into a rack to dry for 48 hours.

After much hard work by the crew, the rack begins to fill up. The boxes in view are just SOME of the shingles that still need to be stained. Volunteers are gratefully welcomed!
